Used Titleist Irons

Many pro golfers such as Brad Faxon, Lucas Glover, Hunter Haas, Frank Lickliter II, Adam Scott, Steve Stricker, and Nick Watney have used Titleist Irons to earn victories in the PGA Tour and other professional tours; thus, many people would like to own the Titleist irons that these champs won with. Brand-New Titleist Irons, however, may be too expensive for ordinary golfers who tend to have more limited budgets than the pros do.

Some golfers turn to Used Titleist Irons like a used set of AP2’s or CB 710’s. Those in mint or like-new condition are of course the most sought after, but may still be too expensive for some. Used Titleist irons with the most face wear are understandably the least expensive ones.

Anyone who intends to buy a set of used irons needs to know what to look for. Search on the Internet for people who are looking to upgrade and are selling used Titleist irons like 695 MB’s perhaps.

You should also do a fair amount of research on the older models and decide which of them would best suit your needs. If for instance, you really admire the Titleist CB Irons, maybe you should consider a set of 690 used Titleist irons as their overall design is quite similar to the newer CB irons. Slight changes to the sole and stronger lofts distinguish the newer irons from the 690 irons, which may be found on eBay in good condition, selling for a couple hundred dollars or so. Many a Titleist aficionado still holds the 690’s in high regard for their premium feel.

Incidentally, when the phrase “good condition” describes used irons, it means that they have been used but not abused and that they were well taken care of by the previous owner through several years of use. The irons may have scratches or ball marks that do not impair the performance of the clubs. The grips may need to be replaced.

Other questions you may find necessary to ask before buying used Titleist irons are whether reconditioning the used irons would be feasible and how much of the groove wear can still be repaired. Once you have your used Titleist irons of choice, you can have them bent to your desired setup, whether this may be flat, upright, and so on. You could also have them lofted to the stronger modern specifications so you can get even more enjoyment out of them when you take the irons to the golf course.
